The property
The Manoir du Stang, a former Seigneurial estate with an agricultural vocation, welcomes you to its 40 hectares of woods, ponds, gardens and parkland. Built by the first Seigneur du Stang, Jehan Arthur, on the occasion of his marriage in 1427, it changed hands only once, in 1804.
Since then, it has been the property of the Hubert family, whose vocation is to maintain it, share it and pass on its history.
The History of the Manoir
This typical Fouesnant manor house was conceived in an age of art and prosperity, when Brittany saw the emergence of so many open bell towers and ribbed porches.
It was not the home of rich lords, but of country gentlemen going out into the field with swords at their sides.
From its construction in the early 15th century to the present day, Le Stang has been modified and enlarged to become a place suspended in time.
The Manoir's managers
The guarantors of a legacy to pass on
As evidenced by the old buildings and structures, the Manoir du Stang was a real home for up to 50 people. Agricultural activities included milk, pigs, horses, sheep and goats, as well as milling, woodworking and fish farming, to name but a few.
Today, the Manoir has been managed by Alain Hubert for more than 25 years, providing a full range of accommodation and hospitality services. More than a hotel, the Stang is a home where we want to welcome you, preserving what must be preserved and passing on our history in a relaxing family setting.
Since December 2022, Jean-Baptiste Hubert has joined the family adventure on the farming side, following in his uncle's footsteps. The aim is to make the most of this part of the business, which includes breeding, and to share it with you in a fun and educational way, without turning it into a zoo. This project will be open from mid-2024 and is set to evolve considerably over the next few years.
